I live in ne texas and have had 5-7 hives for the past 10 years. Lost all of them within the past two weeks due to beetles. I had never heard of this insect until a few weeks ago and by then it was too late to salvage the hives. Hope to start over next spring.

Sorry to here that Bill. I had my first experience with
those nasty critters this last spring in Texas making
up Nucs. Just plain nasty.
There is a bunch of good help here on how to exist
despite these pests. Lot's of extra attention and
not much room for error.
