Hi Folks:
I am trying to get a beter understanding of the nectar flows in Southern California and particularly around Santa Barbara. There is always something in bloom, but the bees don't care as much for some flowering plants as others. Can anyone point me toward a guide to help clear me up on this :s. I am trying to associate the efforts in the hive with the local flows...any help would bee great!
Thanks - Jeff -

Hey Jeff:

There are lots of blooming plants in Santa Barbara, but the cool temperatures limit nectar secretion. The best flows are inland somewhat. Best honeyflow in SB is during the winter from eucs & others.

I'm very envious. Santa barbara is a beautiful city.
