Finally finished the building and here it is. After 30 years of having bees my dad has never had what I would call a real honey house until now. He has always used some converted building to extract in until now. My back ground is masonry work so my mason partner, myself, and his son built this for Dad. The building is 100x50 ft 12 ft high, we have two 30x25 fumigation super stroage rooms and a 70x50 main room. I have a 6 inch concrete floor with a 1 inch drop in the middle to a drain for washing out the floor. This is big enough to operate the Swinger and Bobcat in without being cramped. I also have enough room we don't have to disassemble the extraction equipment for work space anymore eighter while not extracting just clean it and cover it. There are some things that still need to be done but the building is basically finished and we are going to extract in our own place starting today. A happy time at Mathis Apiaries now this project is over. Here is a link to our web site so everybody can see just go the the honey house page and the slide show of the buillding in progress is there.
