Has anyone used the flat covers with metal on their hives? I would love to replace all 150 tops with new metal ones but can't due to $$. I seen these in a bee supply catalog and the price was good, but never used one before. Anyone using them let me know your thoughs.....

Hi:
I'm not sure what you mean by flat tops with metal on them! All of my telescoping covers are covered with a thin sheet of alum painted white by the factory. I buy it in 50 ft rolles 24in wide and then cut the size I need. Really makes a differance in the temp inside the box.

I don't think I personally know any beekeepers that don't use the metal clad top covers.

Migratory lids don't have metal on them. If you are planning on replacing your lids with telescoping tin covered lids it is going to get expensive for 150. I guess you could cover your lids with a metal sheet but a good coat of paint would work almost as well.
