I'm curious about what this opened supercedure cell looks like. I thought when it opened the queen emerged....(or if they put royal jelly in the wrong cell...well *something* should emerge). Why does it look like larvae?

Did the cell get scrunched when you put it back in the hive??

The cell probably got bumped when you pulled the bar. That tear happened just before the picture was taken from the looks of it.
is this the same hive you posted in the multiple eggs thread? It looks like they are trying to raise a queen from drone brood. I never seen that but heard it happens as a desperate last measure.
Are there any worker brood in this hive? Did you see the queen? If not they need a queen asap. I never had to try it but it's been said that if you shake/brush all of the bees some distance away from the hive all the workers will return except the laying workers. Leave them queen-less for a couple of hours then you can introduce the new queen. Good luck.
