Started a new hive from scratch a few months ago. Apparently the hive is thriving. Opened it up last evening and 8 1/2 frames are full so I am planning to put the new deep super on tonite.
Questions.
I have been feeding them since the beginning and they are really using it up now even though they are bring a lot of pollen and I asssume nectar back. My thinking is to keep feeding until I put on my honey super and quit so I dont get sugar water honey. PS they are in the middle of thousands of acres of lumber company land. Lots of opportunities for them.
Any need to spray the frames in the new box with sugar water to give them a start?
Once they start the new box, any reason to check the bottom box, and if so how often.
Thanks in advance
