Last year after extracting, I put a super of sticky comb back on top of a weaker hive in the hopes of giving them some easy honey and cleaning up the combs. None of my other hives were nearby. Long story short, another hive robbed them blind and completely wiped out this hive.
This year, year two for me, needless to say I'm a little hesitant to use this method for cleaning up my sticky combs after extraction. And I really don't want any more ants in my garage than I already have.
Can anyone suggest a method or two for cleanup?

Thanks

you can simply set them outside.... typically set with the frames pointed upward to limit the damage to the comb by the robbers.

another possibility you could also place the wet supers on hives at sundown. come morning time they are all cleaned up and not attractive to robbers.

Thank you. I'll try that.

Put a reducer on the entrance. Doubt if the robbers can get through a defense at a small entrance.
