For all you that are old timer beekeepers, you will know what I am talking about. I want to get back into the boxed comb honey and am looking for Veneer Separators at a good price. Cheapest I have found is 70 cents. Anyone know of any cheaper.

Now, having asked that. Who all still use the shallow supers for comb honey, this way? I always use to keep one or two of these supers instead of queen excluders to keep from laying above. Always worked, I never EVER, had a problem with a queen laying in a super by doing this and I think the bees liked it better.

Very nice, Doug. But Veneer Separators are what go between the box frames. When using them it keeps the queen out of the super, or seems to for me.

How are they different than excluders?
