Super Cleanup?

What is best way to get supers cleaned up and ready for storage after extracting?

I have always put them out on sawhorses about 200' away from hives. That has not always been good. Sometimes starts a robbing frenzy, and sometimes attracts lots of ants.

Does putting them back on the hive above the inner cover really work?

I have done both of the things that you describe, but now I just put them away wet. The bees like it next spring when you put on supers with honey in them. If you use excluders it seems to insure that a lot of bees go through right away.

Why not just put it back on top of the excluder ?? They will either clean it or fill it.
