week hive or bad queen?

Hello, I put a 5 package of bees in on may 2 in my tbhs. 4 are doing great. One is very slow with very broken and spotty brood pattern. My question is should i just add some brood to help build? Or Kill queen and put some new eggs and brood from another hive so they can make new queen? Thanks for your help.

If it was me, I think I'd off the queen and add frame of eggs from a better performer, and make sure I destroyed any queen cells that were not from the frame I added from the better performer.

I wouldn't want to lose the time, order a new queen. 25$ and your back in the game.....

Keep in mind some queens are just slower than others. and come around as nectar/pellen become avalible.


I put in 20 packages april 18, one bad queen (drones) and 1 queen that has filled 2 deeps already! (imagine my surprise)

And 18 average hives doing just fine.
