I have 6 hives. 4 weeks on 2 of them and 3 weeks on 4 of them. I have feeders 1+1 on top of the hives and they are not drinking it very much. Seems they have found the maple tree's that are blooming. They are building out just fine most of my frames had been built pevious. She is laying fine and they are filling with honey etc I need to go out of town in 2 hours for a couple weeks to several weeks on a family emergency.

Question:

Can I just throw on the second deep and have my wife check on them.?

Also should I put the second deep on top or on the bottom.?

Should I remove the feeders or leave them on until they are empty and then remove them.?

Thanks for all your advice. I will be watching there progress from the internet on my web cam.

i just started but i think i know this one. weather permitting, better to add too early than too late. so add it. i am not sure about top or bottom. i do not think matters much except inclimate weather. you want the full super near the brood or cluster of bees when it is cold. if you are not sure about the weather, play it safe, full super on the deeps empty super on top. the last one is tougher for me hope a more experienced poster answers soon. you could go either way on the feeders i would say. if you pull them the the forage goes sour. the full super is right above the deep. if you leave the feeders it should be ok. if the weather gets too cold they may not break cluster to get to the syrup anyway, but then you have a full super right above the deeps right? i personally would leave them on, can't hurt i think.
