swarm catch success rating.

caught a rugby ball sized swarm sustaining two hits (no veil). got approx 80 percent. a few left on the tree. sat catch box on ground for 5 minutes to check where loose bees were gravitating to. ok the catch box. hived then in kenya tbh. now i wait. any advice on what signs to check for to assure myself i got the queen? i am not going to disturb them just watch entrance behavior.

Your plan to watch the entrance for signs that you have also acquired the queen, should work.

Basically, if the queen is with the swarm, they will stay; if she isn't, they will leave. So, continued activity at the entrance should be a giveaway that the queen is with the swarm.
