Just wanted to give everyone (who is interested) a quick update of whats going on in my TBH's.
As a little background:
Hived swarm #1 in "Flower Hive" on 4/6
Hived swarm #2 in "Hamlin Hive" on4/20

Flower hive has about 8 bars of drawn comb, 4-6 of them are crossed (mostly brood comb). We made a mess in there 2 weeks ago and seperated some out. Checked last night and there are 2 new frames of mostly straight comb. My plan is to rearrange the comb so the straigt come is in front of the crossed comb. Capped brood and honey visible.

The Hamlin hive is much smaller then the Flower hve but is still drawing comb. A quick peek yesterday evening showed 3-4 bars about 3/4 drawn...thank goodness all are straight. Capped Brood and non-capped honey visible.

We have been feeding 1:1 in both hives as it is very dry and the weather has been iffy. Both hives are taking the syrup about 1 gallon baggie ever 3-5 days.

Quick question:
It seems that both hives have shrunk in numbers since the install...I would imagine this is normal since there has been no new births...am I correct in my thinking?

Thanks for listening...errr...reading :gh:

You are correct. From the time the queen started laying again you are looking at 21 days for new bees.

Hamlin Hive :lpf:

My guess is this hive will always be one step behind. :D
