I got my new nucs on Saturday and was hoping I would be able to at least inspect them by now. Alas we've had 8 of the last 10 days with rain, including the day I picked up the nucs.
Since we are "on the flow" and my bees can't get out I've decided to feed them to help them out a little since it is near impossible for them to get out and forage. I followed the directions I have seen to baggie feed. I mixed up some 1:1 syrup, put the baggies on top of the frames, cut a 2-3" slit in each one and now I hope for the best.
The main reason I did this is because the weather is supposed to be a total wash-out (literally) until Sunday evening. This has to be some of the wettest weather I have seen in a while. I think we've even gotten more main that we did the last week of the year and the first week of January this year.
I just hope I have helped the girls and haven't drowned them!
