If you want regular, pine boxes, BetterBee is probably your best bet, because shipping is the real killer. They are in New York, not far from Albany. I use them as my primary supplier. Their woodenware is high quality (although this year I am trying some cypress hives from Rossman, just to see how they are). Plus, being close, orders are delivered quickly. I placed a large order Monday, and it was delivered yesterday. Seven large boxes, including three full cases of Pierco plastic frames, which were pretty heavy, and shipping was $81. By way of comparison, I placed an order with Brushy Mountain in North Carolina, and a two box order is $56 in shipping. Plus, they are two weeks behind in order fulfillment. I'm in NH, so I'm guessing your shipping experience will be about the same.

As bnatural noted, shipping is the killer, so if you can buy local, it can be a big savings. According to the Mann Lake catalog, they have a dealer in Norwalk, CT: Silvermine Apiary 203-354-3056. Ask your local bee club members if they know any other local dealers.
