Does the wax have to be drawn out before it is sprayed?

I only spray with BT when I store comb. Since wax moths really don't bother much with foundation, I would only be concerned with drawn wax of any kind.

as far as I know wax moth will only infect darker comb or comb with some traces of feed or pollen.

I've only used it when I had to store brood comb. Haven't had any wax moth problems on comb that was used exclusively for honey.

Spray when drawn out.

I have had them in honey supers. You must be certain there is not remaining pollen or honey in the frames. That definately attracts them.

You can spray before and/or after. I never get around to it until after and lately I haven't gotten around to it at all. Pretty much if you put the supers on by the main flow here and put them back on after harvest and leave them until the first frost, you can keep the wax moths out of them without any treatment.
