Hi,
I'm a relatively new beekeeper in So. Florida, and checked my 3 hives today and they are doing so well that I need to add supers. I had one spare, but the others need supers too. I have extra medium supers, but need frames --- fast. Last time I needed something quickly I ordered directly from the Dadant branch here in Florida. I didn't ask about turn around time and it took them 6 days just to ship. Would like to know suggestions on where to order for quick turn around. Or, on the opposite side, where not to order.
Thanks!

Dadant's here in Wisconsin usually ships same, we receive the item the next. Perhaps your last order was not in stock. I suggest you call, ask if frames are in stock, ask about shipping date and you can then decide if you want to order.

No, the items I ordered before were in stock. I found this out only because the woman from Dadant in FL who was filling my order called me to clarify something about my order. (The first woman who took my order was not the right person to be on the phone since she told me she'd had a stroke and had problems with numbers) I was shocked because I had ordered on Monday, and the order filler was calling me back the following Friday, telling me that they were so busy and so behind that she wouldn't get the order out until the following Monday. Now I have an order that I placed online with Brushy Mtn. in GA and received an email confirmation that they received the order on 3/28, but still don't have an email with the tracking number, let alone order in hand. That's why I'm worried about turn around time. Am I the only one experiencing slow service?
Maybe I'm experiencing major paranoia. Is this a new beekeeper syndrome? Too may swarm stories? Just wondering ...

I like Mann Lake's plastic one-piece frame/foundations, PF-120/PF-125 frames. I just ordered 180 of them for the price break and received my order within three days of having ordered them. I especially like them because they are ready to go, I just place them in the supers and place the supers on the hives.

I know it is a little late to mention this now but it is always a good idea to purchase everything you need well before this extra busy time for the bee supply companies. Not only are some of the suppliers a couple weeks behind on orders, some have shortages of particular items, such as wooden ware.
I called Brushy Mountain for something a week or so ago and was told they had a 2 week waiting line for filling orders. I would call them and see just how your order is doing.
Is there another beekeeper you know near you that might have some frames to sell you?

A big thank you to all, esp. Joseph Clemens. You were right on with Mann Lake. Called a bunch of different distributors today and all be backlogged except Mann Lake. They said they'd get my frames out in 24-48 hours, with a 3-day ship. Plus the frames were a bit cheaper than Dadant (went with the plastic frames for now), so, hopefully, this will absorb some of the extra shipping cost.
Thanks again,
Michelle

I've been very impressed with Mann Lake's shipping. For me, the packages always arrive sooner than advertised. Here's hoping your experience is the same.
