I have two hives. I lost one early in March. The other one seemed fine, but not a lot of bees. About two weeks ago, I saw some capped and uncapped brood, but not a lot. Yesterday I opened up the hive hoping to find more bees and brood, but it looks like there is the same amount of bees and less brood. I did see the queen.
The weird thing is that I saw a lot of eggs near the bottom of a frame, but it look like there were several eggs in some of the cells and the eggs were not at the bottom of the cells, but kind of haphazard.
If I didn't open up the hive, everything would look normal with bees coming and going, collecting pollen. There is quite a bit of honey still that they have not eaten, so I know that they are not starving. They also have taken some sugar syrup.
