Placement of oil ?

I am wondering about The best areas of the hive to place lemongrass oil---I have been putting it around the opening, but that looks to much for their extrasensitive odor detectors. What in the world am I doing wrong ?...Bees fly up ,go right in, and come rushing back out like they had smelled a whole sack of armpits.

I place a drop or 2 at the entrance, and a drop or 3 inside. I have lots of interest but noting has moved in yet. What are you using for your traps? Hives, nucs, store bought traps, ect...

I am using 9 5/8" boxes that have a full frame of comb in the center, plus the drops. They are all set and ready for habitation.I guess I'll just twiddle my thumbs..LOL
