Okay, its killing me! Its all I can do to not go out and take a peek at the girls. Thank goodness it rained yesterday otherwise it would have been REALLY hard.
So, I need to wait a week or so right? Before I go in there and make sure they are building...?
Anything in particular I need to look for?
Oh, and I have a baggie feeder in there...should I check it sooner to make sure there are not any problems with it?
TIA

The longer you leave them alone, the better they will like it. But....if you HAVE to go look, just peek. Take a look at the feeder and quickly look between the frames. You can get a lot of info real quick. I wouldn't be pulling out frames and doing a full inspection for a couple of weeks.

Right, I know..but now what do I do??? Ive been waiting for this swarm for SOOOO LOOONNNGGGG and now, nothing...
I guess my main worry is with the wierd weather we got, 70 on the day I caught the swarm and then 55 and raining the next day...are they ok? Was my hive weatherproof enough? Are they eating? etc etc...
Gosh, I feel like a new mom! :o

that is because you are (a new mom):D:D
but seriously, just relax, they will let you know if something is wrong. if they don't let you know in time, you likely couldn't do anything about it anyway..
Oh Yeah! Remember the feeling well. Can I look? Can I look yet? Can I? Can I? And I was 50 when we started.:)
Take a quick peek. Check the feeder. Fill if needed. Don't disturb any frames for a good week or more. Its hard to resist I know. (I couldn't, had to look!:))
There is a great deal of satisfaction to just sit near the hive on a warm day and watch the field girls coming and going. The hum, the pollen, Bee shaped clouds overhead :) the exchanges at the door. Perhaps a little quality time with the kids would help your, as big bore aptly puts it, addicition!

I would imagine that in Paso Robles just about everything that will bloom is blooming now so they probably aren't going to need much help for a while. It will take a while for the first brood to show up as well so I'd say sit back and watch them come and go from the entrance and leave them be for awhile.
The hardest part for me when I was getting started was learning how to let the bees do their thing without pestering them so I know what you're dealling with, but it's best to leave them alone unless you have a reason to think they need help.
