Yeah, that's what it says............

A friend was telling me yesterday about people doing trips on nutmeg. How crazy is that I was thinking until I did a search on it!! I have never heard anything about it before, if it's been going on for any time? Apparently it's a similar high to marijuana. Sounds like some nasty side affects and the trip down is not very pleasant, but they do it just the same.

Holy Cow, what will people come up with next to catch a buzz?!:rolleyes:

Who knows if it'll be pulled off the shelves over some "nutcases" :) misuse of something else......................

As a Connecticut native, I'm thinking it might be time to resurrect the ol' wooden nutmeg and make a few bucks!

(Now I wonder how many people will understand that.....)

I've heard about this year ago. I make all kinds of exotic oatmeal in the morning and have had some pretty strong doses of nutmeg in a couple. No one in my house acted any stranger than they normally do!

Careful how you say that Joel............ :D

I don't know Joel, don't intend to find out either. But from what I've read about it, you need about a table spoon or more to get the affect. Other than a pinch in the ole eggnog, I don't really use it for much myself.

i believe it was more popular in prison than anywhere else.i learned about it reading a biography on malcolm x. i thought it seemed like alot of trouble until i tried the halucinaginic effects of unripe mullberries. i spent a couple days in grandads bathroom. and to think that these are my good memories of bieng a teenager.

WHAT?? Mulberries?? I love those things!! I never heard that either  Talk about a sheltered life.......

Now I know why those stinking tree rats used to clean out my mulberry tree before the berries ripened! :)

if you think this thread is weird just look up in the "everything honey" thread. there is a couple there asking about smoking turkey legs. or maybe they are describing a really sexy turkey.well back to the nutmeg

There are all manner of "legal" highs out there. Nutmeg and banana peels are two of the supposedly legitimate ones. I used to work in an arts academy in rural MI and there were all sorts of folks chasing the high of a lifetime in all manner of weird ways. The folks I've known who did those (check out an Anarchist Cookbook; it's not banned anymore) described them as not at all worth the effort. Something like having the flu and maybe, if you pay real close attention, a little buzz as well. It sounded like it takes a lot out of your body. Oof.

If you need to get high that badly, either stick with mead or inhale and risk the ticket. Our last three presidents were drug users, it can't be THAT catastrophic :).
