Thought I would pass this along. I had a bucket of used metal frame spacers. Boiled them in water over a turkey fryer base with poor results. I added about 4oz of TSP to the two gallon of water the next time, heated it to boil, boiled about 5 minutes and now have spotless spacers. No propolis remaining. Rinsed them well in cold water. Did not rust.

Does this have to be done outside? I am guessing the vapors would be pretty unpleasant!

I did it outside as a precaution. Did not notice any odor but made sure I stayed upwind just in case. Did not have any tendency to "boil over". Just developed a scum layer on top.

Sounds like a good way to clean queen excluders also.

What I really love is that TSP is now phosphate free... really.
