The best way is to go to the top of main forum page and check out "announcements" for instructions and rules/suggestions about image posting.

See you are in Idaho and will assume this is a recent picture of a colony that was opened because there was no activity. What I would call a dead-out. Bees starved and died in a cluster. Sometimes it is the beeks fault because not enough stores were left for the colony. Other times it is the weathers fault tricking the bees into expanding the brood nest before spring has actually arrived. Come spring, clean up the gear and start again.

Good luck,

Just curious...is any one seeing any mites in this picture... or are those red dots something else?

I see red dots on the comb...and at least a couple red spots in with the bees... I wasn't sure if possibly they might be mites... but I wasn't sure ... hence why I was asking...
