The bad news is that I lost two of my three hives so far this winter (one to moisture, one went into winter weak).
The good news is that I have a TON of drawn comb now and frames filled with honey (probably between 10-15 frames just with honey and a few more loaded with pollen). I have ordered packages and plan to install them on the drawn frames in the spring.

So here are my questions: When I install the packages, how many frames of honey should I put in each deep brood box? How many drawn and open frames should be in the brood box, how many frames of pollen in each box? Does the arrangement of the frames in the box matter when I install the packages? And finally, if I install them with frames of capped honey, do I also need to feed sugar syrup? If so, how much? Thanks to all for replies.

Mike, I would leave 3 to 4 empty frames in the middle for the queen to lay and one frame with pollen next to them and the honey frames to the outside. I would feed 1 to 1 syurp if they take it, maybe sundance will see your post he lives in your state and knows the weather up there, weather dictates alot when and how to manage your bees. Good Luck Jack
