It looks to me like it says "S. Elizabeth Barriere". If it was EBB, then the original spelling of her last name was changed, which is a possibility, especially during her time period.

What's it from? Have you Googled S. Elizabeth Barriere? Or B. Elizabeth Barriere? The first initial may be a B.

To me, the first initial looks much like my MIL's -- Z. I vote for:

IMHO, the first initial looks very similar to the capital B in Barriere.

My wife and I agree with Hobie. the first letter looks like the B in the last name.
What does this signature mean to you? Do they owe you money or something?

Working at a national park, I'm always trying to read names of the people who visited in the 1800's. It is very difficult. That's why I like print.

G. Elizabeth Barrière, a French name due to the accent grave on the "e". The "G" I am not so sure as it looks like a small letter. Anyway, hope that helps.
