How many out there have heard of a Kirkhof hive? I've only seen a couple at a friend's place near me. Apparently they're very efficient.
They are a 2 queen hive with superb ventilation. They stay cooler in the summer and warmer & drier in the winter, which means the odds of your colony lasting through the winter are much grater. With all these things together a single Kirkhof hive tends to produce more honey than 2 regular Langstroth hives. I'm surprised they're not more common:scratch:.
If anybody out there has had experience with them or know someone who has, I'd like to hear about it.
