I went to an auction of a cabinet shop today and cannot believe the deals I got. Everybody was bidding on the small hand tools and pretty much overlooking the heavy equipment.

Anyway I got two powermatic 10 inch 5 hp shop tablesaws. The one has a 6 ft x 8ft top. Also got A 10 inch wood lathe, a dust collection system, a water cooler, A large work bench, and a few dozen pipe clamps.

total cost after buyers premium.... $556.40

Had a guy come up to me after I bought the second tablesaw and say he wanted to bid on those, but only had single phase power in his shop. Guess he never heard of a start compacitor:D

Anyway I plan on selling one table saw and the water cooler and that will more than recoupe my money on the whole lot.

If you are referring to the model 66 you just got a couple of really nice saws.

Tell us about the lathe and the dust collection system.

Yep, that's why I put a 3 phase rotary converter in my shop years ago. I just couldn't let that great old industrial machinery go by.

Ther lathe is a craftsman 4 speed wood lathe, nothing special, but I been wanting one and the bid was right.

Dust collection system is just an old Dustkop 55 gallon barrel system, also the price was right.

The first powermatic is a 66, the second is a 64 contractor saw. I payed the most for the 66 at 300.00 and only payed 20.00 for the second one.

I would have had to make multiple trips if I had brought the checkbook with me, but when the cash was almost gone I stopped bidding. The had several nice dewalt 18 v cordless drills, all went for around 20.00 each....that was one of the last things they sold and I was maxed out buy the time they got to them. Had a lot of other stuff I wanted....wish I had deeper pockets:D
