Which grafting tool is preferred by those of you who graft? Which supply company has the best one?
Which grafting tool is preferred by those of you who graft? Which supply company has the best one?
So many people on this forum have recommended the chinese grafting tool that I will have to get a few of the good ones and give them a try. I started with the cheaper stainless types for about $12 but found the tool way too course an instrument. The more expensive Swiss made grafting tool for around $35 made a big difference for me. The more expensive tool has a very small grafting hook that allows better control.

I use the Chinese grafting tools. I buy them about six at a time and pick the best ones.

I made my gragting tool out of a paper clip. Pulled out the long leg at 90 degrees and smashed the end with a hammer on a vice anvil and smoothed and rounded the new flat end with a hone stone and bent the end out for a small flat spoon. Works great with a slight stwerling between thumb and finger.
