It's winter in Wisconsin
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Wisconsin
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Wisconsin
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!

That's a wonderful poem,..MapMan; Thanks.

We are going to get some REALLY COLD weather here in the next few days; what does "The Farmers Almanac' say about that??

From the Old Farmer's Almanac...

"Winter temperatures will be two degrees above normal, on average, with below-normal precipitation and snowfall. After record cold in the first half of December, most days in January will be much milder than
normal, despite occasional cold periods. Other cold spells will occur throughout February. The snowiest periods will be around Christmas and New Year, in mid-January, and in March.

April and May will be warmer than normal, with near-normal precipitation.
Summer will be hotter than normal, on average, with an especially hot July followed by a cooler August. Rainfall will be slightly below normal.
September and October will have below-normal rainfall. Temperatures will be below normal, on average, in September and above normal in October."

Sure wasn't on target for December, and so far this month. I think it has been colder, on average than usual, and as you know, Oldbee, we are getting our share of snow and precipitation like last year!

Oldbee - check your thermometer overnight on Thursday, and we'll compare notes Friday morning... They say -15 F here, but in the valley I live in, it'll be much lower than that. I'm betting -23 F.

Hehe, that's great.:)
(I would post one of my poems, but none of them would work in the humor forum because they normally have a somber tone.;))

I like that MM.

Hope you don't mind
But I added a couple of lines

So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Wisconsin
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!
If it wasn't for the cheese
Which is the beez neez
I would have ended it with a dagger
So all I have to say is "Go Badgers"

I was a bit off. Only -22° F this morning. Not too cold, actually balmy... I think it'll drop a bit more tonight.

Last year's coldest I recorded was -28°F, year before that -43°F.
