Hey Folks,

Is anybody in the Central Tx area doing anything for the wintering process yet? It is pushing 80 degrees today and they are strting to move around. Has anybody experiecnced condensation from clusters yet? I have screened bottom boards and cover them when we get that one to two days of cold weather then remove them and I haven't seen any moisture yet. Is ventilation really such a big issue here since they aren't clustered for very long periods of time?

Thanks

I will have to look you up on the map since I don't know where nolanville is located.

moisture is more of a concern where bees are clustered for long periods and the air temperature is extremely cold. this problem is typically attributed to the formulation of ice above the cluster. the time required for accumulating the water and forming the ice is longer than it typically freezes in central texas.
