deal with this problem?
I have 2 five gal buckets of cappings mixed with crystalized honey. I would like to separate them and save both the honey and the wax.
My own fault for letting it sit. but I need to do something.
Thanks in advance, Phil

Warm it at 95-105 degrees F and the honey will de-crystalize and the wax will seperate and float to the top. Then let it cool and scoope the wax off the top. It helps if you have a honegate in the bottom of the buckets, that way you can just let the honey flow out the bottom of the bucket until the wax is all that's left in the bucket.

Hi, well I have been thinking about this subject for a while. Right now I don't have the time to try this: Put some of your cappings in a large zippered food bag. In one upper corner punch a hole for hanging on a nail or similar. At the opposite corner snip the corner off. Hang the contraption in a warm place with a container under it for the drippings. This is right now just an idea and when I have more time I will try it. Take care and have fun

A primitive way if you're thinking of feeding the honey back to the bee's is to just chunk out some of the chunks, add into smaller buckets and feed above the inner covers. What's left is nice cappings wax. It does take a little longer for the bees to clean up the honey but it works.
