There is a bees nest in the frame work of a building being torn down at St. Vincent Collage. I have the nest at ground level and it is cut out so that comb and bees can be easily removed. I could not retrieve the nest intact which is the only way I will accept bee nests at this time of the year, and I don’t care to waste time trying to reassemble the nest to winter them. But if someone would happen to need some bees, queen or combs of honey, this would be easy pickings. Call me at 724.454.0077 and I’ll provide a number and directions.

Sr. Tanya is down that way. I'm not sure how one would handle bees this time of year. Is the demolition set to happen soon, or can it be delayed until spring? It would be tough to save these bees this time of year.

Hi Dug,
cant be delayed,
The contractors called me after the building was down. I used the chain saw and got access to the nest. It was cold, my fingers were freezing. At this time of year I prefer to take the whole wall to my bee yard and winter them, but it appeared to be a salvage operation after it fell apart a bit too much too move. Still amazes me how bees can fly out and make a person regret he didn’t suit up in cold weather.

Back again... Went to print too soon. I see it's already been handled. Also, seems I missed out on the regret part, thank God!!
