Pittsburgh's Troy Polamalu says rule changes make the NFL like "two-hand touch" football. Your thoughts?

Thoughts.............. Hmmmmmmmmmm

Troy has the mind of an eight year old??

Football remains an extremely violent impact sport. It
gets faster and faster every year and players get bigger
and bigger. Every single game has impacts that would
literally knock your teeth from your skull.

I would like to see even more rules that protect the
health and well being of the players. One in particular
that I like is to have the kick coverage team line up
at the line and not many yards back. This would lessen
the extreme levels of hits and still allow good technical
tackling.

We all love to see bone jaring hits (a bit Romanesque), but
people getting disabled is not the idea.

Bah! Put a dress on 'em!

They're making ALOT of money and no one is making them play.

I would like to see stats from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and now, on injuries and person's being taken out of the game. You would think, that with all the new equipment it would go down. But the men get faster and bigger.

The speed of the game has gone nuts. Nothing like
the 60's, 70's at all. Players are in much better
condition nowadays. Speed kills..........

Too many requirements, too many fans who watch plays and not the game (like watching crashes in car racing) and too many advertising dollars making more of the game than what it is. It's a game.

Sundance, I basically agree with your posts in this thread. I do not enjoy seeing players get physically hurt in a "sporting" contest. Skill in playing the game is important. Physical injury to a player is not something to "enjoy".

I think the game TV/radio announcers contribute to the problem when they celebrate the intensity of "hits"
