Trying not to lean left or right to much guys/gals. Can ya'll give me in lehman's terms what the bailout that passed is all about. Who benefits and why and who doesn't and why. And if this goes through the next couple of stages and has a final pass. What is expected to happen to the average tax payer in the future.

Listen to Congress. It's no longer the "Wall Street Bailout Bill", it's the "Main Street Rescue Package."
In layman's terms (Lehman's terms too I suppose) they're saying "We're from the Government and we're here to help you."
So it's politics as usual, I'd just sit tight and wait for your share of the $700 billion to appear in your bank account.

Sure, From Communist Manifesto (http://www.erichsmith.com/cm.html), by Karl Marx, published in 1848; Proposal number five (or the fifth plank):
centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
We've been building up to this sort of a moment for nearly 100 years now and this is one piece of a very big puzzle. Once completed we will know that the financial "too big to fail" concept has taken hold and we become more a slave to the monetary system. In effect, we are sanctioning the idea that we will back whatever endeavour this small group of people decide they want to pursue and they lose their fear of failure.

In all honesty, I'm hoping it's more of a nuclear (or nukular) bomb.
People need to understand what we are giving up. To argue against an argument Galaxy made in another post, there is no such thing as a little socialism and you cannot beat socialism with socialism. It will consume you.
