I was luckey enought to catch two swarms on September the 9 it was small starded feeding as soon as they were in hive the following week i put a frame of brood in it that broke up the cluster, they had pulled a little was no much, had trouble getting them to eat off top feeders so i closed down entrance last weekend and put feeder in it and what a difference it made.
the second swarm cought September 23 was about a 3 pound swarm in a week time they had pulled almost 2 frame of comb and i put a frame of brood from another location in them also feeding as soon as they were hived, In my best guess if i feed heavy bouth will make it through the winter in south carolina
