Is it time to feed pollen patties yet?

If you do not have pollen sources for your bees I would say yes, it can't hurt. Here in Colorado we are lucky to have great pollen resources until the first frost so we don't have as big of a pollen need. If they don't store enough then I will feed after the first frosts, but it is seldom needed here until later in the winter. In short, it all depends on your area. Shorter still, when in doubt, feed.

Goldenrod is in full bloom and if you watch your landing board you should see lots of bees with full pollen sacks. If you feed pollen when they're bringing in pollen you might be feeding hive beetles instead of bees.
