Yesterday, I got called out to get a swarm, and oh WOW what a swarm. There was approximately 2 1/2 ft of bees hanging from a tree, a pile of bees on the ground, and some hanging onto a piece of farm equipment. So I set up my hive with towel in front and shook the bees from the tree onto it. Set a cardboard box over the pile on the ground, and got the vacuum out for the bunch on the farm equipment. I started noticing balls of bees and beeing curious dug into them and found queens in them- which I caged (what else to do?). After 5 hours we loaded up the one hive, vacuum box full of bees and 6 queens. Today, started sorting out what we brought home and found 5 more queens! WHAT IS GOING ON? Somebody take it from here and tell me what you would have or would do.

Wow. I've heard that late swarms sometimes have multiple queens. I've had one swarm here this year that had 2 queens. I boxed the swarm as it was and let the bees sort it out. I ended up with only one queen in the box after three days or so.
