api life var - where to put it?

So, I put some api life var in my hives, and I noticed that many of the colonies had a "brood nest" in 2 boxes. Should I just put the treatment in the top box? Thanks! :)

I break the wafers into 4 parts and put two in each brood chamber. Works for me.

Do you put it in the bottom of the box or on the top frames?
