So i was successfull rearing 34 queens my firs year!!! They are currently building up for winter. I used mostly carniolian stock this year. But i am thinking strongly about adding minnesota hygenic stock for next year. I talked with Glenn Apiaries and they will be charging $150 each for there breeder queens, ouch. I still plan to pay for the purity & quality. I am looking for suggested breeders of minnesota hygenic to serve as drone mother colinies.
thanks for your input
Dan

This fellow has a good reputation in North Carolina. I visited there a couple of years ago but have not purchased queens from him. MH queens and he is very proud of their mild temperment.

I've ordered from OHB several times. Always happy, and one of the few places that has never missed a ship date. Very good stock. I've only ever ordered NWC.

If you sell Glenn Hygienics mated to NWC drones I would definitely want to try a couple.

aspera, I'm still trying to raise queens enough to get my hive count and honey production up to my demand. I will end up buying 3 barrels to support my customer base. Once i can have enough honey to not have to buy wholesale. I will consider offering queens for sale. That might be 2-3 years. I was planning mating minn hyg queens to minn hyg drones not to carnis. Also talking with Charlie Harper about breeding Russians.
