I just established a new colony in April and I was wondering if I should go ahead and requeen it this fall or wait until next year? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is there some identifiable problem with the existing queen?
do have some idea as to the age of the queen? some bee keepers feel that a queen is at her peak in year two.

You run about as much risk from the bees replacing an introduced queen as you do from the one you have quitting on you. This time of year, I'd say keep her until spring if you know sh'e this years queen.
