Why would I find an egg in a cup on the bottom of a frame at this time of the year? Do they sometimes lay in the cell and workers simply ignore or destroy? I cant imagine they would be swarming in Sept. in WA state.

How strong and well ballanced is the hive? Is there a good fall nectar flow going on there at the moment? Sometimes, but not often, small swarms are issued in the fall. Is it September already?
