This is the answer on agressiveness.
All bees are agressive. however, they are not vicious and need to be to survive. To make them vicious you need to stimulate colony strength, communication and hinder robbing. They need to work. Move them closer to a food source, give them something interesting to fly around with 3" to 6" holes through it that they can get lost in... (A bee toy)... Bees hate the everyday same ol. make their daily life more enjoyable by not bothering them. visit them daily but don't intervene in their chores. They have chores to do. The most agressive bee is the PCHB (partially crushed honey bee) Try not to squish them!

why is everyone just talking about a few races and strains of honey bees(italian, carniolan, caucasian, european dark bee, cordovans and africanized bees)? There are so many other races and strains of bees which are pretty different in their characters? any ideas about other races and strains of bees?

josethayil: why people talk oly about a few bee races?

Because those are the bees that are commercially available where they are at. You would have to talk to a South African about the Cape bee, etc.
