SUPERMARKET SURROUND SOUND

The new supermarket near my house has an automatic water mister to keep
produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of thunder and
the smell of fresh rain.

When you approach the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and witness the scent
of fresh hay.

When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle and the air
is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.

The veggie department features the sound of a gentle breeze and the smell of
fresh buttered corn.

I don't go down the toilet paper aisle any more.

Thanks for the laugh!

If you are avoiding the TP aisle, please continue visiting the corn (on the cob) section.

What do they do in the liquer aisle? I'm thinking whiffs of stale urine and cigarrete smoke... Just walk around the "wino" with the nametag pinned to his shirt laying in the middle of the aisle.

By the way, you do realize that you are paying for all of this in higher food costs, right?

And for you word-o-philes out there:

petrichor (PET-ri-kuhr) noun
The pleasant smell that accompanies the first rain after a dry spell.

[From petro- (rock), from Greek petros (stone) + ichor (the fluid that issupposed to flow in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology). Coined byresearchers I.J. Bear and R.G. Thomas.]

Glad you all enjoyed the laugh... however, someone though it was real.

someone though it was real.

If you are refering to me, I should further explain. You reminded me of a real conversation that I had with a clerk at the grocery store the last time I went shopping for my wife. I could't ever figure out why our food costs were so outragous until I did the shopping.
I asked the clerk if it was really necessary to stack all of the Campbells Soup up in a neat pyramid like that and the response was that management felt that people appriciated the exciting product displays followed by a complaint that everytime someone bought a can of soup she had to spend an hour restacking it!
I knew you were kidding but you aren't to far off base. I just forgot to add in my example.
And no... WE(meaning she) don't shop there anymore.
