I have two queens purchased two days ago for a cut I was going to do. Yhe hive swarmed. If anyone needs these two they can have them FREE. PICK UP ONLY in Kingsland Ga. 912 674 6367 Theay came from Garderner Apries in Baxley Ga....

I sure wouldn't part with the queens unless you have so few bees left the parent hive might die anyway.
Even a teacup of bees set off in a box with a little brood and some feed is better than missing out on your splits.
And if you have sealed queen cells in there still, put one or two of them in the split as well.
The virgin could emerge too soon, and ruin the master plan, by swarming, or fighting with the caged queen, but what do you have to lose? Well, only your two queens, from what I'm hearing. The caged queen will nearly always help retain the flying bees, so the brood is not likely to die of neglect.

It's hard to give up something you have so much of - don't you guys only have two seasons? Spring & winter.
I have an eldery aunt & uncle in Grand Blanc, it is really pretty outside the cities. I need to visit them again before they're not around to visit any more.
