I was just wondering how many folks who post on tailgater have one. For those who don't know what it is, it's your discharge certificate from military service. I'm just curious.
I got mine working on these-

40mm. There's a 20mm mounted on the stern. Some of the East Coast boats ran 20mm's on both the bow and stern.

I was in just long enough to finish AIT as an 11B before the higher ups said "hey, maybe that one really IS hurt". By the time anyone figured out that I wasn't faking the damage was beyond repair.

Tec, I could tell you to the minute when I got out, but going in is still a little hazy.
Why, my health is great. Thanks for asking.
Other than 7 hours in the ER yesterday, passing a kidney stone. Just a small blemish in an otherwise great day.

Gee, thanks for sharing tecumseh! I got to have my own little uncomfortable experiance as I laughed, clinched, shuddered, laughed, and clinched all at the same time. Now all we need is Hummingberd to come on here and start an arguement about her uterus.

Nope, not I.
Unless you count the 5 years I was in the Militia at Colonial Williamsburg, where I got to be part of the Honor Gaurd for the G-8 Summit, amongst other honors.
The Secret service took our flints, our ramrods and our gun powder and the guy w/ his hand in the "purse" said to hit the deck if we heard the burps of his Uzi. It was quite an experience. No Boot Camp required.

Yeah, I almost didn't make it through boot camp because my knee was all screwed up. They made us wear these ill-fitting shoes we called "Boondockers".
When I finished boot camp, first thing I did was throw those **** shoes away and got a pair of real shoes. The knee problem went away. Go figure. If they had kept making me wear them, I'd probably have had permanent damage as well.

Four years in the U.S.C.G- 1979-1983
Most of the time on a bouy tender but about six months was on a 82 foot patrol boat. I think they were used in Nam. That picture of the boat reminded me of it. I liked that boat, except for the fact that when the sea got to rough the **** would literaly splash up out of the tolit and roll down into our bearthing area.Yea those were the good ole days.R,R,R Matey!

Hey, Bjorn! He was 29 Y Army, circa 1989-94. Saw Fts. Gordon, Detrick, Meade, Okinawa, Korea and Bad Aibling Station Germany. Did some TacSat too. Missed the first Gulf War only because his unit didn't have MOPP gear that would stay sealed during assembly of the dish. (No QRA.) This was all Signal Corps, and the very early days of Space Command.
Not too many satellite types out there that I find anymore.
It's a small world after all, and six degrees of separation, and so on.

I was given mine.
Some of you guys had to Earn Yours with the hardest part staying alive long enough to see it. I'll let my 4-year old son say it for me....
At the Kentucky State Fair on Wednesday, he met some army tankers who let him see in the tank. Mama said that he told them all, "thanks for keeping us safe from the bad guys." He'd say the same to you all, I'm sure.
