I have about eight gallons of last years honey that I extracted from some deadouts. I extracted these frames from the brood chambers to free up the frames and comb. I still have a box and a half of frames that are capped as well but I think they're starting to set up ( granulate ). I was wondering what's the best way to feed back the extracted eight gallons once this years honey supers have been pulled? I normally feed with inverted pails with screen lids, can the bees pull thick honey through this or should it go into a hive-top feeder? Does it need to be diluted with a bit of warm water? The box and a half of frames I will just put into a few hives and see if they use it. Anyone see anything wrong with this or is there a better way?

they will take honey from pails as long as the weather is hot. the best way i have found to get them to move honey from frames is to place them above an empty cover after you have scratched the caps. a fork works fine for that. good luck, mike
