Ray & George

(Maine mechanical engineers)

were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up.

A woman walked by and asked what they were doing.

'We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole,' said George,

'but we don't have a ladder.'

The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts,

and laid the pole down. Then she took a tape measure from her

pocket, took a measurement, announced, 'Eighteen feet, six inches,'

and walked away.

Ray shook his head and laughed. 'Ain't that just like a woman!

We ask for the height and she gives us the length!'

George and Ray are currently working for the government.

Iddee, I started laughing, in anticipation, as your post was loading, as I knew it would be good.

By the way, I have nothing against Maine or women. They are two of my favorites. :)

you notice she didn't put the flagpole back up:rolleyes:
Ray and George were about to measure the length of the flagpoles shadow and their own shadows and use simple proportions to find the flagpoles height
now Ray and George have to put things back like they were
no wonder they quit and went to work for the government:D
