I have been using kelley for goin' on 50 years now almost (not quite) as my exclusive provider of frames, wax and misc bee gear. they were great folks to deal with 50 years ago and that doesn't seemed to have changed.

50 years has me beat(YEAH!) but i've been dealing with them long enough that i knew walter(gone now 20 some years) and agree they are very effecient with orders yet if you stop in will talk bees as long as you like. a rare combination.

If you ever go to Kelleys in person just ask if they can give you a tour of the place. I've been there twice and once I arrived 5 minutes before lunchtime (my mistake) well the lady ask if I could come back in an hour and after I picked up my order they would take me on a tour of the plant. Best wasted hour I believe I've ever had! Got to see how frames and foundation are made. Also visited the metal shop were extractor and tanks were being made that day. Very friendly people all throught the plant. If you don't live that far away it's worth the drive to take a tour!

I agree, the tour is worth it IF they're still allowing it. Recently, they had a sign up saying that they couldn't do that. I'm sure it had something to do with being in transition to new management and wanting the dust to settle and the paint to dry. If you ever stop in for a second visit, I'm sure they'll remember you. they must employ people with photographic memory or something. That kind of customer service seems to be the norm in beek supply places. If I call Kelley's, the lady will ask about my 3-year old son by name.

If you're considering stopping in for a tour, I'd call first. Also ask if they'd rather do a group at a time. So instead of them stopping what they are doing a dozen times in a week, your whole group could get together and plan a day. There's some local dining opportunities in the next town over (10 minute drive) and Mammoth Cave national park is just an hour away.

I ordered from Miller's on the 7/22/08 and received it (3 big boxes) first thing this morning UPS. I had a whole list and everything was there. I started ordering from them back in 1976 when they first opened. I was impressed with them then and I am with them today. Their prices are the best I have seen, and so is the quality. I just ordered more yesterday too. www.millerbeesupply.com I like Kelley, but the cost is more I think.
