I am having a hard time sourcing out brewers yeast. Anyone know where I could get some?
They have some at the local home brewery store but I do not know what kind I need so I can make my pollen patty sub.

From the Mann Lake catalog
http://mannlakeltd.com/catalog/page42.html
I would guess Glory Bee would carry this also. Yeah, this is for 5#, maybe they sell in larger bags too.

The stuff at the homebrew store isn't, technically, what you need.
What you're looking for is SPENT yeast cells. It's the stuff that homebrewers throw away! In homebrew circles, it's called TRUB (pronounced: TROO-buh) and can oftentimes be had for the asking.
You'll need to do a little handling, like rinsing the alcohol off and grinding the product, but it's free! At one time, I had discounted using trub, due to thinking that I had read somewhere that the sodium levels in trub were too high for use as a bee food, but I couldn't retrace my steps and find this statement anywhere. Because this little statement remains in the back of my mind, I feel that I should say: Use at your own risk!
When looking for a finished product to use in pollen patties, you're looking for Dried Brewer's Yeast, in feed grade, which has been spray dried. Spray drying produces a VERY fine (like talcum powder or corn starch) powder which is easier for the bees to consume.
Also, keep in mind that shipping on a 50# pound sack of Brewer's Yeast is fairly expensive, as a sack from Illinois to Michigan cost about $50 bucks to ship UPS. If you can negotiate free shipping, I'd suggest doing so.
Good luck!

There's a little place in WI... aw heck I can't remember it now. Best prices and it's the kind we use. I'll try to remember to look 'em up when I get home.

I think it's Lapp's bee supply. But I'll look it up tonight.

Thanks, Ben.
Lapps 50# bags fare $74, Mann Lake is $44, not sure if this is apples to apples......
Isaac, since shipping is such a big factor, especially in smallish quantities, you could probably afford to pay quite a bit more if it is local.
I would give Glory Bee a call if you can't find something closer.

You may want to try a local feed store. I used to feed brewers yeast to my 4-H calves all the time. I know my parents still use it.
Just a thought - you may have another local source and it may be cheaper than shipping it in.

Be sure to read the labels on any brewers yeast you might find at a feed store. The bags they sell around here are full of fillers and minerals.
