New Bees Emerging

Newer beek here - tonight I saw my first comb with brood emerging. Really cool!

I just saw an antenna poking through, then the head, then half the body, and then the bee was crawling around like all the rest of them.

I know the more experienced among us are probably rolling their eyes :), but it was a neat moment.

It is a great sight isn't it?

Highlights of my first year beekeeping:

1) Spotting the queen, MY queen, for the first time with my own eyes.
2) Watching a baby bee emerge.
3) First waggle dance.

And on a somewhat dark note:

4) Seeing dozens of dead small hive beetles in my new trap. Bwahahaha!!!

I think thats a cool thing to watch!
One of my favorite things to do is sit in a folding chair I have near my hives with a cigar and just watch the girls fly in and out, I call it "Bee TV"
